AR15 Upper Guide

An AR15 upper is defined as an AR15 rifle accessory which may come in the form of scope mounts, scope rings and other tactical shooting supplies. AR15 upper further enhances the features of the rifle and generally adds up to its functionality as an effective weapon. AR15 upper can be any type of rifle accessory that a discriminating shooter would opt for to maximize the performance of his rifle.

There are many rifle and rifle accessory manufacturers that develop accessories to make an AR15 rifle fully-loaded. An example of this is Rock River Arms from Texas Star Group which caters to the accessory needs of AR15 rifles. One type of AR15 upper from this company is the Vermont Upper which is available in Elevated Optical Platform or EOP and A4 Flattop. EOP upper is 1” taller than the upper of a standard A4, it features a 1:8 twist barrel and it has an aluminum handguard. Other options such as Detachable Front Sight, Detachable Tactical Carry Handle, Standard Length Quad Rail in Aluminum or Lightweight and many others are also available at an additional cost.

Another form of AR15 upper is the 9mm uppers. These uppers which are also available from Rock River come complete with bolt carrier and a charging handle assembly. An example of this AR15 upper is the 9mm CAR A2 Complete Upper. Another version of 9mm upper is the 9mm CAR A4 ML Complete Upper. Both models offer options at additional prices. Options include Detachable Standard and Tactical Carry Handles, AWB Compliant Muzzle Break and CAR or Midlength Free Float Aluminum Tube Handguard and many other value-added features to accessorize and maximize the capabilities of an AR15 rifle.

Elite/Tactical CAR A4 is another form of AR15 Upper which is under the classification of Tactical Uppers. Other models for this type of AR15 upper are Elite/Tactical CAR UTE2 and R4 Entry Tactical. Other types of AR15 upper are CAR uppers which have two models namely CAR A2 Complete Upper and CAR A4 Complete Upper. The A2 model has 2 sub-models, the CAR A2 CM and CAR A2 SS. Standard Uppers and NM Uppers are also types of A15 upper that are commonly used.

AR-15 Rifle Tip #1

Take advantage of the Ar-15's versatility. The modular design of the Ar-15 rifles makes it very easy for you to quickly and affordably change your Ar-15 from a casual plinker to a precision varmit rifle, or practically any other use, simply by swapping out the upper receiver assembly. You can have as many separate upper receivers as you want and they will all work with your existing lower receiver assembly.

AR-15 Rifle Tip #2

Save money by building your own AR-15 Rifle. Many gun enthusiasts who are on a budget are choosing to assemble their own AR-15's from parts they buy directly from the manufacturers. Not only can this save you some serious money, but you can also build a rifle that is completely tailored to you. No more settling for what you don't want.

AR-15 Rifle Tip #3

Feed your Ar-15 quality ammo. Okay so you've spent the money and either built or bought your Ar-15 rifle. You now have a large sum of money in this rifle...do not risk damaging yourself or your new gun by shooting sub par ammunition. Stay away from the Russian cheap stuff as it is corrosive. You can buy quality PMC or Winchester white box for a low price at places like Wal-Mart. Treat your Rifle Right and it will last forever.
